Description

Guybrush Threepwood, the mighty pirate who can hold his breath for ten minutes, could have lived quietly and happily with his sweetheart Elaine, the governor of Melee Island. But the restless pirate spirit won't let Guybrush in peace. Things don't go very well with Elaine, and Guybrush (now with a beard) embarks on a new adventure: searching for the legendary treasure of Big Whoop. However, the evil ghost pirate LeChuck hasn't left the stage yet. His subordinates are trying to bring him back from the dead one more time. Will Guybrush be able to defeat his archenemy again?

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is a puzzle-solving adventure game and a sequel to The Secret of Monkey Island. It utilizes the same command-based SCUMM interface (the player uses verb commands on highlighted objects) and branching dialogue system (choosing between several different responses during conversations) that were used in its predecessor. The game features hand-painted graphics, and is the first to utilize LucasArts' iMUSE system, which synchronizes music with visual action on the screen by providing smooth transition between themes.

The events of the game take place on a new set of islands; a part of the game allows the player to explore several islands simultaneously. Uncommonly for adventure games, LeChuck's Revenge features two difficulty levels. The easier one is dubbed Monkey Island 2 Lite; it bypasses or simplifies some of the harder puzzles.

Subject: Everybody talked about this videogame in early 90s

Must confess I didn`t play at this era, but I am playing it now... It is so great as people used to state. Love this style and emotion.
CLARIFICATION ON SOUND (It works!!)
When you are in the intro: Putting the numbers (press Alt X to leave). Press Y to leave and in the MS DOS page press: MONKEY2 S and then you have the sound!
VERY IMPORTANT: You have to do it first and then, load the game to get the sound. If you have already played with no sound, it does not work, sorry!!! You always have to save the game with sound.
F5 (Fn): Load, save and quit the game (Extremely important key).
F12 (Alt): Accelerate the dialogues.

Subject: HOW TO PLAY WITH SOUND

When it asks you to put numbers in press option + x (mac) or alt + x (windows) then quit to DOS by pressing Y. When it goes to the next screen type MONKEY2 S and press enter and the game will start again with sound, then just type whatever numbers you want in the copyright check/recipe screen. Love this game, this version works perfectly the whole way through.

Subject: Possible glitch noticed (spoiler alert)

Been playing through and got as far as the top of the big tree where there is a pile of maps. Tried using the dog on the pile to get the map piece but it just says "That doesn't seem to smell interesting to him". Every walkthrough I've checked says that this is the correct thing to do. Am I missing something, or is this in fact a glitch?

To get the sound working, press Ctrl-C at the copy protection prompt, then at the DOS prompt type:

Subject: Great old vga game

It's nice to play these old games just here in your browser and Monkey Island 2 works perfect here on windows 10 with Edge browser. Press F5 to save and load your game. That way you can also skip the intro if you already have a saved game. As already mentioned by "ssyoda" the copy protection can be any number.

Subject: Great game, a little glitchy

Love this game, but it seem to have some issues with freezing. Screen will go black sometimes. Maybe it's the browser, though.

Subject: One of My Favorites

After playing Return to Monkey Island demo years ago, I got hooked. This is still probably one of my favorite Monkey Island games. It doesn't seem like there's any sound, though. The copyright question at the beginning is broken, so just enter whatever numbers and you'll be fine. Outside of not being able to skip the credits, this seems to work well.
